Cake or pie? Birthday, from scratch, apple pie from

my friend and Fulbright Scholar, Callie. A delicious

work of art.

I hope to blog a bit about her remarkable mother, a

plane owner and aviator at age 16. A flight trainer

for the US military at age 19.

It was through Callie that Cindy and I got the honor

of meeting Col. Glen D. Frazier, a survivor of the April

1942 Bataan Death March. Col. Frazier's story was

featured in the Ken Burns PBS documentary, The War.

Hell's Guest, is Frazier's personal memoir and the

front cover image shows him in a line with other

prisoners, marching through a jungle, into

the unknown.
